God's Story and My Life

How does having a good understanding of the story of scripture impact daily life? Our life is like a story, and with every story there is someone telling the story. God is the story teller in our lives. The story of scripture is like a drama. We live and “act” out what happens in our everyday lives. We are the actors in the story God wrote. Knowing the story will help us fulfill our part in it. The story is still currently in action, and soon God will come home. But, this is not the end of the story. “It is just the end of the beginning.”(Unknown quote)

The Resurrection

God sent Jesus, his only son, to die for us. Jesus graciously gave up his life to save us from our sins. Jesus was whipped. He carried his own cross for his own death. Christ was crucified on the cross. They tore his clothes from him and spit on him. The crowd yelled and called him names. Jesus was hung on the cross, nails in his wrist. He had a crown made a thorns jammed into his head. On top of everything that had happened, they pierced his sides. His blood was clear, like water. Even after everything that he had been put through, Jesus forgave everyone. His last words were "Father, forgive them. They know not what they do." After Christ was dead, He was placed in a tomb. The guards rolled a large stone in front of the tomb, so no one could get in or out of it. Jesus had only stayed in the tomb for three days. He had risen from the tomb on that sunday, and came down for everyone to see. God's love for us is unbelievable, that He would sacrifice his son to fulfill his plan. God's plan will one day be fulfilled through us.
